ISA Certified Arborists Licensed & Insured 24/7 Emergency Response
It's & we're always open

Why we started Arborist Tree Experts

We started this company in DeLand because Volusia County deserved a tree service that took the work seriously. Too many of our calls were second opinions on jobs the homeowner already paid for: laurel oaks topped to ugly stumps, palms trimmed of healthy green fronds, removals quoted without anyone climbing the tree to actually look at it.

So we built the opposite of that. Every estimate is walked, every recommendation is signed off by a credentialed arborist, every cut respects the long-term health of the tree, and every truck that pulls up to your house carries a current Certificate of Insurance. Not last year's, not "I can email it later," not "we don't do that."

Our standards

We work to ANSI A300, the national consensus standard for tree care operations, and follow ISA Best Management Practices for pruning, risk assessment, and root-zone work. That means:

  • No topping. Ever. Topping ruins tree structure and shortens lifespan by decades.
  • No flush cuts. Cuts respect the branch collar so the tree can compartmentalize wounds.
  • No spurs on living trees being pruned. Spurs are for removals only.
  • No "clean trunk" palm trimming. We cut only fully brown fronds. UF/IFAS confirms green-frond removal weakens palms.
  • No hard-sell removals. If the tree can be saved, we tell you so, even when it costs us the bigger job.

Credentials & insurance

On any given job, the crew lead is an ISA Certified Arborist or working directly under one. Risk assessments are conducted under ISA TRAQ (Tree Risk Assessment Qualification) methodology. We carry $2 million general liability and full Florida workers' compensation, and we maintain BBB accreditation through the Volusia County office. Certificates of insurance are emailed the same day you ask, usually within the hour.

What "24/7" actually means here

It means a real human dispatcher answers the phone overnight, not a voicemail prompt that says "for emergencies, call back during business hours." During named storms we pre-position crews and equipment, monitor the storm track, and start dispatch the moment winds drop below working safety thresholds. Our average on-site response during Hurricane Milton was 87 minutes from dispatch, including 2 a.m. calls. We do not price-gouge during cleanup. Documentation comes standard for insurance claims.

Service area

Headquartered at 1856 Patterson Ave in DeLand, we dispatch crews across all of Volusia County and into northern Seminole County for major jobs. See our full service area for city-by-city coverage details.

What we won't do

We won't top a tree, no matter who asks. We won't quote a removal sight-unseen. We won't subcontract your job to a crew you've never met. We won't show up without insurance papers. And we won't tell you a tree needs to come down when it doesn't, even if that means a smaller invoice. The arborist code is "the right answer for the tree," and we hold ourselves to it.
